GLB to OBJ converter

Some apps still want OBJ. Drop a GLB and get an OBJ that keeps its UVs and normals.

GLB or OBJ?

GLBOBJ
FilesOne file with everything insideThe .obj, plus .mtl and image files for colour

AnimationYesNo
Read byWeb, AR, game enginesAlmost every 3D app, including old ones

Keep the GLB as your master copy and make OBJs only for apps that need them.

What comes across

In the GLBIn your OBJ
Shape, UVs, normalsYesYes
Separate meshesYesYes, one object each
Texture imagesInside the fileNot included; export them separately
AnimationPossibleNo

You keep everything needed to put textures back on later.

A .gltf that points to a separate .bin file won't open here. Re-export it as .glb, or with its data embedded.

How it works

  1. 1Drop a GLB, or a glTF with its data built in.
  2. 2Leave "Make Y up" on unless your app expects Z up.
  3. 3Click Download OBJ. UVs and normals come along.

Questions people ask

Checked October 2026

Do my files get uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The file never leaves your computer, so it works for client files and unreleased designs too.
Are textures included?
The OBJ keeps UV coordinates, but the images themselves aren't packed in. Export the textures from the GLB separately if you need them.
Can I convert .gltf too?
Yes, if the glTF has its data embedded. A .gltf that points to a separate .bin file needs to be a .glb or embedded first.
