Opening a 3MF elsewhere

  • Slicers: Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer and Cura all open 3MF, with the settings if the file has them.
  • Blender: needs a 3MF add-on, or convert to STL first with our 3MF to STL tool.
  • Tools that only take STL: use 3MF to STL. You keep the shape and lose the colours and settings.

About 3MF files

3MF is a zipped file that holds the shape plus extras: the unit, several parts, colours, and often the slicer's settings. MakerWorld projects are 3MF, and many Printables downloads are too.

This viewer shows the shapes and their base colours. Slicer extras like painted faces and plate settings only show up in the slicer that made them.

How it works

  1. 1Drop a 3MF file in the box.
  2. 2Drag to spin it. Scroll or pinch to zoom. Right-drag to pan.
  3. 3Read the size, triangle count and whether it's watertight in the panel.

Questions people ask

Checked October 2026

Do my files get uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The file never leaves your computer, so it works for client files and unreleased designs too.
Will it show the colours I painted?
Base colours set on objects show up. Slicer paint (per-face colour) and print settings don't, since those live in slicer-specific extras.
