FBX to OBJ converter
Turn an FBX into a plain OBJ that pretty much any 3D app can open.

Good to know
When OBJ is the better pick
- The app you're moving to can't read FBX. Plenty of renderers, sculpting apps and older tools only take OBJ.
- You want a plain file you can open in a text editor and check by eye.
- You're heading for a 3D print. Then skip OBJ and go straight to STL with our FBX to STL tool.
Game engines like Unity and Unreal work best with FBX or GLB, so keep the FBX for those.
What comes across
| In the FBX | In your OBJ | |
|---|---|---|
| Shape, UVs, normals | Yes | Yes |
| Materials and textures | Yes | No material file |
| Bones and animation | Yes | No, saved pose only |
OBJ is the plain, open option. Nearly every 3D app reads it.
We read FBX version 7 and newer, binary or text. Older files need re-saving from Blender or Autodesk's FBX Converter first.
How it works
- 1Drop your FBX in the box.
- 2Check the size. The unit is read from the FBX.
- 3Click Download OBJ. UVs and normals come along.
Questions people ask
Checked October 2026
- Do my files get uploaded?
- No. Everything runs in your browser. The file never leaves your computer, so it works for client files and unreleased designs too.
- What happens to rigs and animation?
- They're dropped. OBJ only holds the mesh. You get the model in the pose it was saved in.
